Hello dear Splatterfans !
I hope you have all enjoyed the holidays and have geared up for a better year.
First off, I want to bring to your attention the posting of 'New Reviews'. As you have seen in the past we have put out four new posts on the front page at least every other week. This has been working out ok (any suggestions just throw em our way). But I have come up with a minor alteration and I will tell you what it is and why I have done so.
When four new releases are out on the front page, chances are that they will probably be there until Jose or myself review more and I do the postings - this is like two-two and a half weeks before fresh material gets out. Alot of eager fans might find the wait and lack of new material frustrating. That is why starting today we will not wait until we have four 'New Reviews' stacked up (which takes time). We will be posting them one by one onto the front page just as fast as we possibly can. I can guarantee you will see at least two 'New Reviews' posted every week (every seven days to be exact, cause I post on on/off random days of the week).
Bear in mind that the exceptions may arise. My health has been poor and other things seem to intrude into our work (some necessary, some not).
The second change is a bit major. I have decided to eliminate the 'Hall of Fame' section and will soon replace it with a new one called "Collections".
The 'Hall of Fame' section had begun to get redundant. Originally I had created it to let people move into films with heavy blood, or breasts. But the lists got so high that almost every other film here warranted a huge blood or beast or breast merit. So now you have three options in browsing our reviews. a) look for a film alphabetically in our 'Splatter List'. b) Browse by country. we have divided our horror reviews into different continents like North America, Asia, Europe... (and as you browse through the lists each film has a short n sweet blurb to entice or dissuade you. c) Just recently I added the genre breakdowns. Here you simply look for the type of horror film you want to read about. New classifications might be added in the future. So there you go, the 'Hall of Fame" is no more. I do regret if any of you were fond of said section.
This new section I will soon introduce is called 'Collections' and I am still working out the bugs. What I had in mind was to couple movies from the same series or a similar topic, or the same director... and present them in a fresh fun way for you to have access to said reviews. I had in mind planned movie nights where you could look through our 'collections' and research, netflix, and enjoy !! A collection topic might be 'Giallo night' or 'Classic gore with H.G. LEWIS' or even 'Leprechaun series survival marathon !!!' I hope you get the picture. There is more to come. more fresh ideas more fun and more horror.
Thanks !! ;D
I hope you have all enjoyed the holidays and have geared up for a better year.
